Slow but Moving
A slow month on the development front, but I’m still moving forward—just at a slower pace than I’d like. Most of my time has gone into animating the player character, which turned out to be a lot trickier than expected.
🥾 Player Sprite Progress
The hiker animation has been a real challenge. I’ve spent most days chipping away at it bit by bit, usually in short sessions. It’s a deceptively tough task: trying to express personality, motion, and clarity in just a few pixels and a couple of frames. I’m getting closer, but it’s still a work in progress.
🧠 What I’ve Learned
This process has been a good reminder that not all progress is visible. Sometimes it’s trial, error, and invisible iterations that don’t make it into screenshots. But the game is still alive and moving forward.
📆 Looking Ahead
Once I’ve cracked the character animation, I’m hoping to pick up momentum again with some of the features I mentioned last time—especially the scrolling road and first trail town. But for now, it’s one step at a time.
Thanks for sticking around. See you next time!
